If Trotter can stay in the game and not get his sorry ass suspended for several games for what happened last night, yes. If TO stays on an even keel all year (which I doubt) and stops dropping passes like he did last night (which IMO is directly tied to staing on an even keel), yes. If Reid starts calling plays that make sense for the situation (i.e. what he did not do for 90% of the second half last night), yes.
Until then... I'm sticking with Atlanta to be the NFC rep. Again, because of the defense and overall running game, not Vick's arm. In my opinion, Vick will never be a real QB in this league, he will always be a run-first guy unless Atlanta gets another Dan Reeves type of coach. 2002 under Reeves was the one year Vick looked good in the pocket, and that was because of how Reeves coached things. Reeves made him check down, while Mora just pats him on the shoulder and says "Do what you do". Don't get me wrong, Mora is a great coach, but he's handling Vick wrong to develop him IMO.
ANYWAYS.
As for my AFC pick, it could be changing. Originally, I had the revamped Ravens as my pick (the Jets showed on Sunday why they aren't). On paper, they could have one of the top offenses in the league IF Boller/Wright can spread the ball around and play consistantly. Plus, that defense is simply a machine.
That said... the Colts showed me something I never expected to see: a defense that looked great, especially their front seven. It seems those guys have finally bought into Dungy's methodology, and it showed Sunday night. Big time. And we all know that the one thing holding the Colts back the last couple of years (well, besides the Pats) has been their defense. If those guys keep up what they did Sunday, watch out.

If that's the best the Eagles can do against the run (granted Trotter was not playing) the Eagles are in BIG trouble. Of the perceived top teams in the NFC, most of them are running teams with great backs. The Cowboys have Julius Jones, who is going to have a huge year. The Panthers have Davis and Foster (although losing Jenkins really messes up their D). And the Falcons (who just ran all over them) have their DVD combo drive.
On the other side of the ball though, the Falcons showed me exactly why they aren't going to the Super Bowl. Mike Vick is still OVERRATED. He was terrible in the passing game and only had one big run. They had multiple chances to put the Eagles away for good and couldn't get the job done.
Overall the NFC is still wide open. And my pick (the Vikings) got embarrassed at home by the Bucs. So who knows... :P Looks like smooth sailing for the Pats so long as they get homefield advantage over the Colts in the playoffs.

Here's a quick hint... the key as well as punctuation can do wonders for a post.
Well, we saw how well the Eagles did now, didn't we. They're fading into mediocrity, just another team in a weak NFC. Patriots remain the team to beat in a superior AFC. 'Nuff said.

what about the chefs with their dual running back system.. and plus their defense was not bad... nothing can beat a Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson setup in the back field

The Chiefs are just another team that hasn't beaten New England, and the Iggles already showed that they can lose with the best of them.

I think the Dallas cowboys have a chance and the patriots won't even get past the playoffs.

Are you kidding me? He ain't going to jail... and certainly not during the season. Our "justice" system will see to that. Just look at Jamal Lewis last year. The law doesn't work the same for athletes.

the cheifs have a denfense now
they shut down the jets
vermeal may have a great team this year
heres a darn good super bowl
kc chiefs and eagles
thats a great match up
the pats are over
i mean the raiders scored 20 points vs them!
if your the so called super bowl champs how can the raiders score 20 points vs them and only lose by 10
the pats suck
eagles will win or chiefs will win this year super bowl
and the first game with the eagles doesnt show what the eagles will do
they will be the number one seed in the nfc
and the chiefs will be the 1 seed in the afc or the colts
nuff said
all these teams now have a good defense and great wide outs and running backs
if you got THE O AND D
YOUR A SHOE IN
thats it.

No offense... but do you actually KNOW anything about football? The Raiders scored 20 points on the Pats because they now have the best wide receiver in football. And, oh by the way, finally found themselves a running back. The Raiders are going to score points on everybody this year. If they had any defense, they could make things interesting in the AFC West.
The first game showed exactly what the Eagles can do. Teams are going to smother TO and force somebody else to beat them. TO is going to get his catches, but notice how many TD's he had last night? Oh that's right... zero. They couldn't handle the blitz and McNabb got beat up pretty bad. The Eagles offense is going to live and die based on Brian Westbrook. As he goes, so goes the Eagles offense.
I can't comment on their defense with Trotter out of the game. The Falcons ran all over them with him off the field though. We'll see what happens when they get him back and play another real running team. Right now... bottom line, the Eagles look vulnerable. The Cowboys and Falcons look like they'll fight them hard all the way to the playoffs.

LOL
DUDE IF THE PATS CAN LET THE SUCKY RAIDERS TO SCORE THEN THEY SUCK
WITH OR WITHOUT MOSS
WITH OR WITHOUT A RUNNING GAME
HELL THE 70S STEELERS WOULD HAVE OWNED THE RAIDERS THAT NIGHT
IF YOURE SO GOOD NO MATTER WHO COMES INTO TOWN YOU SHUT THEM DOWN ALL THE WAY
like the chiefs did to the jets
shuting them down to only 7 points
killing the jets
the chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC not the pats

Hmm... let's see, the line in the Pats/Raiders game was Pats by 7. Seems to me they covered the spread and then some. Take away the one big play by Moss and it becomes 30-13 Pats. So let's check our facts before we make statements shall we? And I certainly hope that the 70's Steelers could've beat the Raiders, since they were the best team of that era.
Oh, and if we're speaking about teams that are "SO GOOD" then I guess the Eagles don't meet that standard do they, since they LOST. If they were as good as you think they are, they would've beat the Falcons right? Since that's what good teams do right?
And the Chiefs? Are you serious? The Jets aren't exactly what I would consider the greatest heavyweight in the NFL. Chad Pennington played like a rookie, and the Jets defense couldn't stop... the Eagles.
If you're going to get into a discussion about something, it helps to know something about it my friend. The simple fact that you hate the Patriots doesn't make them a bad team. After they win the Super Bowl again, maybe you can come to terms with that.
